Welcome to my debt payoff journey!

Hi friends. My name’s Halle. I’m just a typical mom drowning in debt while trying to keep my family afloat in today’s economy.

My husband and I have a combined 35k in consumer debt. In addition, we have a car loan and I have over six figures in student loan debt (and of course, a mortgage – but I’m not concerned with paying that down just yet). We’ve struggled for almost a decade to get our finances in check. We’d get ahead, then something would happen and put us in the gutter once again. In that time, we welcomed two babies into our family, moved across the country, and switched jobs numerous times.

Needless to say, I am ready to make a change. To better things for our family and for our future. We CANNOT continue to live paycheck to paycheck. We need to do better.

This blog will follow our debt payoff journey with real numbers, what strategies work for our middle-class family, and the challenges we face along the way. It’s not going to be easy, but it will be worth it!
